Serena Tabacchi
Co-founder, Director
Serena Tabacchi is an entrepreneur, curator and writer. She worked at TATE Modern and is the co-founder and director of MoCDA, the Museum of Contemporary Digital Art. She is currently researching how to curate digital art exhibitions online and in IRL (in real life). Serena regularly writes for The Observer and has curated the past editions of CADAF (Contemporary & Digital Art Fair) alongside the Lumen Art Projects. Serena is an ambassador for Diversity and Inclusion at the Blockchain Game Alliance, where she organizes weekly events on Art, Gaming and Blockchain. Serena is currently developing an art and gaming experience in The Sandbox Game and is co-curating a research exhibition project with UCL (University College London) in collaboration with Hobs3D.

Tom Van Avermaet
Co-founder
Tom Van Avermaet is an Oscar-nominated and European Film Award winning filmmaker based in Belgium. His love for surreal and melancholic art lead him to create his own popular online gallery page on instagram, where he curates daily art posts. Many of these works are connected to digital art, leading him to MoCDA. Tom is one of the founders of this initiative alongside Serena Tabacchi and Domenic Perini. His main motivation is to support and promote artists and their work on as many different and varied platforms as possible.

Manuela Della Monica
Admin Assistant
Manuela Della Monica is an E-commerce Manager, Admin Assistant and Department Assistant Freelance.
She obtained a Master’s Degree in Visual Art and Curatorial Studies from NABA Milano, and started to work as a Department Assistant Freelance for Cambi Auction House. During her universitary career, she developed an experimental thesis regarding the relation between Artificial Intelligence and Contemporary Art called LINFA - Artificial Singing Plant. Thanks to these theoretical studies, she started to be keen on digital art.
After a training course as a Social Media and Digital Specialist, she started collaborating with MoCDA and meanwhile, working with e-commerce as an E-Commerce Manager. In 2022, Manuela became a Marketing Strategist Associate for a communication agency based in Milan. She’s still investing her time in studying and training to pursue her ambitions.

Marie Chatel
Curator
Marie Chatel is an art historian, writer and curator.
Her experience in content production and dissemination around art and architecture led her to collaborate with institutions such as the Louvre, the Fondation Gandur pour l’Art, ArchDaily, and acclaimed scenographer Adrien Gardère. As content producer and communication manager for the art-tech platform danae.io, she notably edited the publication Digital Art Weekly for two years before joining MoCDA as curator. In 2021, she co-produced with Serena Tabacchi the show Abstract Art in the Age of New Media.
Marie holds a Master’s (Distinction) from the Courtauld Institute of Art (London, UK), with a specialty in German Modernism, cross-media practices and technological utopias, and a BSc in Architecture from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (Lausanne, CH).

Chiara Braidotti
Curator and Editor
Chiara Braidotti is an art editor involved in education and digital art curation. After graduating in Italian Literature, she attended the MFA in Art and Humanities at Djcad, Scotland, and the MA in Economics and Management of the Arts and Cultural Heritage at the Sole24ORE Business School of Rome. In Scotland, Chiara worked as an art tutor for Djcad MFA students and academic assistant to the University of Dundee Contemporary Art Department director, Prof. Mary Modeen. In Italy, she became the editorial assistant to art and architecture publications (Fondazione MAXXI and Quodlibet). In 2018, Chiara approached the crypto art scene through artistic production, then developing seminars and workshops to explore the meaning, evolution and market trajectory of this new genre as a guest-teacher at Università degli Studi di Udine. Her interest in art and blockchain lead her to collaborate with prominent actors in the space, writing articles, curating digital art shows in Cryptovoxels and contributing as an art editor for major online media platforms. Chiara has joined the MoCDA curatorial team to promote a deeper understanding of digital and crypto art.
