One of the branches of digital art whose potential probably intrigues me the most is that of VR sculpting. It feels like something that could be a branch between the classical and modern and take the figurative arts literally into another dimension. This and other pieces by Giant Swan captures that feeling for me and the particular poetic and emotional nature of the works really drew me to this artist. When he labeled this detail of his work as You are an abyss I could not help but agree; it’s a piece to easily get lost in.
The ‘point of view/first person’ nature of this angle of it almost puts in the place of the sculptor and sculpture, all of us trying to hold on to a fleeting beauty that in the end will always escape us…
