Clones

In Clones, the public appears to see over 30 unique identities. However, it is a deception as in fact these are all AI  manipulated images of myself. The artist’s clones. Or are they? As a creative, Rafaella Mehmet uses her works to research the impacts of social media and our current technological revolution from an ethical standpoint. She is using  this project to question hyper-reality and our growing inability to decipher between real and (deep)fake. Particularly  whether it is relevant for us to distinguish this boundary in a world that is so irreversibly merged with the digital. The  exponential developments in tech have holistically redefined the existence of what identities mean to us, creating  alternate polished realities. A collection of digital clones. So, what does it mean to be real today?
