Featured Artworks

Flow State

"Artist Nate Talbot sees himself as a medium between the immaterial, digital world and the spirit world. He aims to deconstruct the tension between virtual and material planes, between his mixed Ojibwe and settler identities, and between technology and spirituality." (Tom Van Avemaet)

Ascension

"Artist Nate Talbot is interested in exploring the question of exactly what changes when natural forms move through technology and digital spaces and emerge back into the physical world. He sees the act of creating sculpts in VR as a type of shamanism, meditation, hallucination, and deep introspection." (Tom Van Avemaet)

Lucid

"To create the universe that his works inhabit, Artist Nate Talbot works in virtual reality to sculpt with 3D scans of fruit, fungi, crystals, and humans. He also forages for flowers, local mushrooms, and living objects in the process of decay to 3D scan these objects, a process he feels akin to immortalising these beings." (Tom Van Avemaet)

Impossible Worlds

"For the artists featured in this exhibit, the digital realm has provided a space to create their own realities. We invite you to discover the unique dreamlands that their imaginations have spawned. Catch a glimpse of surreal creatures hiding in rainbow forests and allow yourself to be hypnotized by the strange sights and sounds of alien worlds. This exhibit pays homage to artists who are world builders. Like gods and goddesses armed with digital pencils, VR sculpting tools, and AI paintbrushes, they spawn unique universes that may or may not reflect our own. As Pablo Picasso once stated, 'Everything you can imagine is real,' a message that the featured artists have taken to heart. Come join their journey into the depths of distant stars or the infinity of human creativity." (Tom Van Avemaet,  Curator)
