Lethabo Huma
Lethabo Huma is a South African artist recognised for her sensitive combination of realistic portraiture and delicate storytelling. Often drawing inspiration from her life experiences, her artworks offer a window into her mind as she processes societal pressures, emotional states, and personal relationships. By using painterly motifs like flowers and constellation-like lines, her works offer a safe and welcoming environment for the viewer to step out of their own familiar lives and feel a kinship with the artist’s experiences.

System Shock - 777 Exhibition is a virtual group show curated by Sia Pineschi featuring works by Yosnier Miranda, Thato Tatai, Mark Constantine Inducil, Lethabo Huma, Blacksneakers, Daniella Attfield and Thomas Stokes III.
“Linger just a moment longer.
In an art system inundated with passive, easily consumed images, the seven artists in this exhibition have pushed their practices in a different direction. Through their bold styles and intriguing symbols, they have found ways of abstracting scenes and portraits to shake the viewer’s familiarity with the world, breaking the monotony of instant understanding that is so readily present in media today. Often reflecting on personal memories or existential concerns, the artists invite the viewer to journey with them to experience new perspectives.
Within these new perspectives, you may find one of your own.”
