Ramsey’s work explores the exploitative nature of algorithms and their function in Artificial Intelligence by blending the human form and technology. The current algorithmic mechanisms implemented in AI reduce individuals to numbers within a larger set of data that is ultimately informed by technology habits. Her work aims to question and criticize the relationship between human and machine, particularly as we become more reliant on AI and algorithmic bias to inform tasks and decisions. Quantifying the human experience through numeric values creates a self-fulfilling evaluation system that neglects subjectivity and nuance. AI’s current algorithmic model interprets individuals through their technology habits, therefore we are evolving, rather homogeneously, with our machines.
